The InBody 380 uses bioelectrical impedance analysis — a safe, low-level electrical signal that travels through your body to measure how much of you is muscle, fat, and water. It's completely painless, takes about 10 minutes, and gives you a detailed result sheet you can track over time. No needles, no changing clothes, no discomfort.
Weight and BMI tell you almost nothing useful. Two people can weigh exactly the same and have completely different body compositions — one mostly muscle, one mostly fat. The InBody scan shows you what your body is actually made of. You'll see your body fat percentage, muscle mass in each limb, visceral fat level, and basal metabolic rate. That's the data that actually drives results.
The InBody 380 is a clinical-grade device used in hospitals, sports performance centers, and research institutions worldwide. For most people the real value isn't a single measurement — it's the trend line. Rescanning every 6–8 weeks shows you exactly whether your diet and training are actually working.
These are two of the most sophisticated measurements on your results sheet — and the ones most people have never encountered before.
Your ECW/TBW ratio tells you how your body water is distributed between inside and outside your cells. A healthy ratio is roughly 0.360–0.390. A rising ratio can indicate inflammation, poor recovery, or fluid imbalance — often before you feel any symptoms.
Your Phase Angle measures the health of your cell membranes directly. Stronger, healthier cells produce a higher angle. It's used clinically to assess muscle quality, nutritional status, and overall physiological health. A score of 6°+ is generally associated with good cellular health. Elite athletes often score above 7°–8°.
Both numbers are tracked automatically every time you scan, so you can watch them trend over time in your InBody app.
The InGrip is a clinical-grade grip strength measurement device that we use alongside your InBody 380 scan. It measures the grip strength of each hand separately — right and left — and syncs wirelessly to your InBody results through Bluetooth, so everything appears together in one unified picture during your consultation.
Grip strength is widely recognized in published research as a meaningful indicator of long-term health outcomes. Studies show that low grip strength is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, poor nutritional status, hospitalization, and overall mortality — independent of other health markers. Physical therapists, sports medicine doctors, and researchers worldwide use it as a reliable indicator of functional health and overall physical capacity.
Combined with your Segmental Lean Analysis from the InBody 380, grip strength shows whether the muscle mass in each arm corresponds with the strength that arm produces — and identifies left-right differences that may correspond with asymmetric training patterns or movement differences worth discussing with your health team.
Most clients find the side-by-side hand comparison one of the most interesting data points from their entire appointment. The test itself takes about two minutes and requires nothing more than squeezing the device — one hand at a time.
You and your consultant sit down together and go through your results live on a 55-inch screen through LookInBody Cloud. Every number is explained in plain language — what it means, what it measures, and where you stand relative to healthy ranges for your age and sex.
We explain your data. You make the decisions.
You'll leave with a thorough understanding of your body composition — not a stack of confusing charts — and the knowledge to have more informed conversations with your doctor, personal trainer, or nutritionist. Many clients find that simply understanding their numbers for the first time is the most valuable part of the entire appointment.
You receive a printed InBody result sheet to take with you. After your first scan we'll have you download the free InBody app — your complete results sync instantly to your phone through LookInBody Cloud. It's private, secure, and accessible whenever you want it. Every future scan adds to your history automatically so you always have your full trend line with you.
Yes — a few simple things will improve your accuracy: · Don't eat for at least 3 hours beforehand · Stay well hydrated — drink water normally · Avoid intense exercise the day of your scan · Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior · Wear comfortable clothing — you'll remove shoes and socks · Use the restroom before scanning
For women: if possible avoid scheduling during the week before your period when fluid retention is naturally higher.
It's safe for the vast majority of people. However you should not use the InBody scanner if you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic medical device. If you're pregnant please consult your doctor before booking. Everyone else — including older adults and teenagers — can scan safely.
Every 6–8 weeks is the sweet spot. That's enough time for meaningful changes to show up in your data, and frequent enough to catch if something isn't working and adjust early. Many clients find that having a rescan scheduled keeps them accountable in a way that nothing else does.
